Danielle Austin, MD, FACOG

OB-GYN

Danielle Austin, MD, FACOG joined the team at Care Center in 2024, transferring from Care Center 45, where she joined the company in 2021. Dr. Austin received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. After graduation, she worked at a biotechnology firm conducting research on a noninvasive test for Down syndrome before attending medical school. Dr. Austin graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 2013 and then completed her residency training at Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2017.
After moving to Northern Virginia, Dr. Austin was the chair of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Reston Hospital. She has a special interest in obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including her experience with operating the da Vinci Robotic System. Dr. Austin sees patients for routine ObGyn care in Leesburg and Sterling, Virginia.
Dr. Austin was born and raised in Connecticut. She moved to Northern Virginia to escape the cold winters and be closer to family. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, daughter and son. Dr. Austin also enjoys running both full and half marathons, playing tennis, and reading.

DIANE BARRETT, MD

OB-GYN

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Barrett received her BA in Biology from Claremont McKenna College.  She moved to the DC area and earned her MD from the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, then moved to Richmond to complete her Ob-Gyn residency at what is now the VCU School of Medicine, formerly the Medical College of Virginia. Finishing residency in 2002, Dr. Barrett returned to Northern VA, where she was in one private practice group for 20 years.  During this time she served as Reston Hospital’s Vice Chairman of the Department of Ob-Gyn from 2009-2015, Chairman of the Department from 2015-2020, and Vice President of the Medical Staff in 2021-2022.  As her partner planned retirement in 2022, Dr. Barrett was referred by a mutual friend to the Capital Women’s Care Loudoun group. Meeting this group of warm, friendly, like-minded doctors, Dr. Barrett knew she had found her new home.  Dr. Barrett feels it is an honor to take care of women during some of the most important times of their lives, and to be able to continue to care for them through life’s different stages. She enjoys getting to know her patients, and helping them figure out how to find a healthy approach to pregnancy and life that works for them.

ALAINA WAYLAND, PA-C

Women's Health Physician Assistant

Alaina Wayland moved to the Northern Virginia area from Upstate New York in 2020 and is excited for the privilege to be working with the Capital Women’s Care community since 2021. She graduated with honors and distinction in research from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience in 2013. Alaina then served in the United States Peace Corps as an Education Volunteer in Uganda from 2013-2015, where she gained a dedication for holistic approaches to health. She attended SUNY Upstate Medical University and graduated in 2020 with high honors with a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Alaina is a Board Certified Physician Assistant with a passion for health education and accessible, high quality, culturally competent healthcare for all people. In her free time, you can find Alaina in the kitchen baking, snuggled on the couch with a good book, digging in the garden, or exploring the outdoors hiking with her family.

Anne Brown, MD

OB-GYN

Anne Brown, MD, has been practicing OB/GYN in Leesburg and Sterling, Virginia, since 1994. She attended college and medical school at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and trained in her field at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Brown has been actively involved in leadership activities at Loudoun Hospital since her arrival, including serving as the Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN from 2002-2005, and currently serving as the Medical Director of the Women’s Health Service Line for Inova Loudoun Hospital. She received the Golden Stethoscope Award for Excellence in Teaching in both 1992 and 1994.

Dr. Brown has a strong sense of commitment to her patients and community and feels it’s her job to approach the patient physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She considers it a privilege to be a Leesburg and Sterling women’s health physician and to empower her patients to lead healthier lives, creating stronger women, stronger families, and a stronger community.

Jane Allen, MD

OB-GYN

Jane Allen, MD, moved to Loudoun County, Virginia, in 2002 and has been practicing as a Leesburg and Sterling women’s health physician since 2003. Her original group Loudoun Physicians for Women joined Capital Women’s Care in 2014. Dr. Allen graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She then attended Loyola University of Chicago Medical School on a Navy scholarship. She completed a residency in OB/GYN at the University of Wisconsin winning laparoscopy and research awards.
After completing residency, Dr. Allen became an attending physician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and she maintained an assistant professor appointment at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda for several years. She was Loudoun Hospital Chairman of Ob/Gyn for 4 years, is board certified and was the winner of the Caduceus Award.
As an experienced OB/GYN for Leesburg and Sterling women, Dr. Allen believes quality care means personalized medicine for each patient. She enjoys getting to know her patients’ unique stories and helping them take charge of their health.

CATHLEEN MILLS, MD

OB-GYN

Dr. Mills has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1996. She received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) and she completed her residency training at the National Capital Consortium in OB/GYN. She graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. As a U.S. NAVY physician, she did a two-year tour in Guam, then she spent 5 years teaching as a staff physician at the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) in Maryland where she also served as the Assistant Department Head of OB/GYN Department. She has been in private practice since 2007. She served as the OB/GYN Department chair at INOVA Loudoun Hospital from 1/2020-1/2022. She serves on two peer review committees and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Mills delights in caring for women throughout their pregnancies as well through the many different phases of their lives.

Gillian Jacob, MD

GYN

Born in Port of Spain, Gillian Jacob, MD, has been at Capital Women’s Care since her move to Virginia in 2014. As an OB/GYN in Leesburg and Sterling, she enjoys getting to know her patients and is committed to providing individualized, compassionate care. She believes that each patient has a unique journey, and she loves being a partner with women on their path to health.

Dr. Jacob graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She then completed her OB/GYN residency in 2005 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She is a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN and a recognized member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

As a Leesburg and Sterling women’s health physician, she enjoys serving the local community and helping women develop healthier minds, bodies, and lifestyles.
